Last summer, Marc Guéhi had come close to joining Liverpool before the move collapsed. The Reds continue to chase the centre-back who is set to leave Crystal Palace when his contract expires in 2026.

Guéhi is also attracting interest from other clubs and isn’t the only name on Liverpool’s list.

Bolavip report Arne Slot’s side want Club Brugge’s Joel Ordóñez to improve their defence.

The 21-year-old saw a move to Marseille collapse last summer and signed an extension [until 2029] in September. That extension has put Liverpool off.

Bolavip report Liverpool would make an offer which exceeds the €40m requested by the Jupiler Pro League side. They would also propose a salary over €3m per year to convince the Ecuador international.

Although this salary isn’t high for the Merseyside club, it would be a ‘huge change’ for the defender. The report adds Inter Milan are also showing interest but may not be able to match what Liverpool would offer.

It’s to be noted this claim isn’t backed up or dismissed in the UK or Belgium yet.

Slot has Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konaté, Joe Gomez, Giovanni Leoni and Rhys Williams as the centre-backs at Anfield. The latter two are currently injured, Gomez hasn’t had regular minutes this season and Konaté’s contract expires in 2026.
