On Sunday, October 19, the club welcomed the installation of club and section captains for the 2025/26 season.

In keeping with tradition, club professional Peter Hammond invited all four incoming captains to drive the first fairway.

Dorian Cobb took on the honours of club captain, Vicki Guildford is the new ladies’ captain, Gary Penhall is the seniors’ captain, and Toby Payne is the new junior’s captain.

Despite high winds and rain causing some teams to withdraw, several competitors continued with the Am-Am competition, achieving some respectable scores.

Adam Barsdell, Russ Bishop, James Fleming, and Paul Gardner claimed overall victory in the men’s section with a score of 94 points.

The winners of the mixed section were Kathy and Ron Elliott, alongside Sarah and Philip Nye, with 92 points.

At the top of the ladies’ section were Catherine Bachelor, Debby Berry, Dawn Hodge, and Bev Whorwood, scoring 89 points.

The outgoing captains, Ray Winter and Lorrie Hawkins, presented Care in the Garden, the club’s chosen charity during their tenure, with a cheque for £9,000.

The new captains have selected Parklands Dementia Resource Centre as the club’s charity for 2025/26.
