Captain America star Chris Evans, 44, has become a dad for the first time! The Marvel superhero actor and his wife Alba Baptista, 28, welcomed their first child in Massachusetts on Friday, October 24.
The couple’s new arrival is reportedly a baby girl named Alma Grace Baptista Evans. Chris and Portuguese actress Alba sparked dating rumours in 2021 and by November 2022, a source confirmed to PEOPLE they had been an item “for over a year”.
The pair tied the knot in a cosy ceremony at a private estate in Cape Cod, Massachusetts in September 2023. The lovebirds also celebrated their nuptials with another wedding ceremony in Portugal that same year. Chris and Alba have kept their relationship largely under wraps, reports the Mirror US.

A source told People today that the couple are “enjoying their privacy and these first few days as a family with their baby”. The Mirror has reached out to Chris’ representatives for comment.
This joyous news comes three years after Chris made an emotional confession, as reported by the Irish Star. In 2022, while gracing the cover of PEOPLE’s Sexiest Man Alive issue, Chris admitted that starting a family was his dream.
“Wife, kids, building the family. I mean, that’s absolutely something I want,” he told the publication. “When you read about most of the best artists, whether it’s actors, painters, writers, most of them [admit] it wasn’t the work they made [that they are most proud of], it was about the relationships, the families they created, the love they found, the love they shared.
“So it’s also something through my long 41 years that also rings true. Those things are the most important. I love the idea of tradition and ceremony, I had a lot of that in my life so the idea of creating that, I can’t think of anything better,” Chris added.
During a chat with Access Hollywood in November 2024 at the Red One premiere, the Snowpiercer actor revealed his longing to become a dad, stating “I hope so,” and noting, “The title of dad is an exciting one.”
Rumours about Chris and Alba expecting their first child together started swirling in June when her dad, Luiz Baptista, replied to a fan page for the pair congratulating him and Chris’ father, G Roberts Evans III, on Father’s Day.
Luiz responded, “Many thanks dear Chris. Your turn is coming!”.
Prior to Alba, Evans was romantically connected to various other A-list celebrities, including Jessica Biel and Minka Kelly.
He was also involved with Jenny Slate following their collaboration on Gifted, though the pair formally split in 2018.
