EXCLUSIVE: Quantify will launch sales on Bulgarian horror Samodiva starring Jack Parr (Peaky Blinders) and Sophie Craig (A Working Man) at the AFM next month.

Currently in production at Nu Boyana Studios, the film marks the latest collaboration between Quantify and Film Forge Media.

Directed by Giles Alderson (Wolves of War, The Dare), Samodiva draws on the haunting legend of the forest nymphs from Bulgarian folklore.

When Zach Dains (Parr) uncovers a chilling link between an antique red box and his wife Bella’s (Sophie Craig) death, he must reconnect with his estranged son Max (Skye Saw) to save him from being pulled into the afterlife by Bella’s tormented spirit.

“Samodiva is, at its core, a story about love under siege — how far a parent will go to pull a child back from the undertow of grief, and what happens when grief looks back,” said producer Piotr Rizov of Film Forge Media.

Parr, Craig and Skye Saw (Don’t Move, Red Sonja) are joined in the cast by Matthew Davis (Legally Blonde, CW’s Legacies), Richard Brake (Barbarian, The Strangers: Chapter 1, Game of Thrones), and Mirabel Stuart (Nightmare on 34th Street).

“With Samodiva, we get to unleash something truly fresh for horror fans,” said Dimo Aleksandrov, Vice President of Distribution at Quantify Sales.

“The Samodiva is a figure from Balkan folklore — a tradition full of rich, captivating stories that international audiences haven’t seen on screen yet — and this film is the perfect way to bring that mythology to the world. ”
