If you find yourself with some time on your hands this Halloween week, ITV has got you covered with a gore-fest of a film marathon.

All ten Saw movies have just been added to ITV’s own streaming platform ITVX today, completing the horror collection which previously only included up to eighth chapter, Jigsaw.

Created by James Wan and Leigh Whannell, the franchise kicked off in 2004 with Saw. The film introduced the world to Tobin Bell’s twisted killer John Kramer in one of the most jaw-dropping twists in recent horror memory, but the series has seen some ups and downs since then.

Faring only slightly better is 2008’s Saw V, with a critics’ score of 13% and an audience score of 52%.

2007’s Saw IV is where critics and audience’s opinions start to diverge. The film from director Darren Lynn Bousman has a critics’ score of 18%, but fans seemed to appreciate John Kramer’s post-mortem, giving it a score of 62%.

The reception of 2006’s Saw III confirmed the gap between critics (28%) and fans (71%), with 2017’s Jigsaw following closely with a critics’ rating of 32% against fans’ 88%.

In the Saw top 5 for Rotten Tomatoes critics, Saw II has a score of 39%, though audiences didn’t seem to like it as much as the first, only giving it a score of 59%.

The Chris Rock-starring Spiral: From the Book of Saw aka Saw 9 also has a critics’ score of 39%, but viewers considered it a return to form, awarding it a positive score of 75%. Again at 39% for critics is Saw VI, released in 2009 and only having a score of 53% for fans.

Second in the ranking is the OG Saw, which has a 50% critics score and an 84% fans’ rating. Claiming the top spot is Saw X, the highest-ranking in the franchise overall with a critics’ score of 81% — a first for the franchise — and an audience score of 88%.

Following Saw’s big Sundance premiere and huge box-office success in 2004, Wan and Whannell remained on the franchise as executive producers. As Wan passed the baton to directors Darren Lynn Bousman, David Hackl, Kevin Greutert and The Spierig Brothers, Whannell also penned the scripts for Saw II and III.

Off the back of the success of Saw X, an eleventh movie had been announced but was subsequently scrapped by Lionsgate in March this year.

All ten Saw movies are streaming on ITVX in the UK.
