Colin Farrell has nothing but praise for the script Matt Reeves wrote for The Batman Part II.
The actor is set to reprise his role of The Penguin for the sequel, starring Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader and gave insight into the script.
“I had many thoughts to share with Matt about the script. I really do think it’s a masterwork. Kind of a contemporary genre masterwork,” Farrell said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. “It’s so brilliant, and Robert has got such a lovely journey to go on and take the audience through.”

He continued, “It’s dense, it’s really really intelligent, it’s so deep and detailed. I’m saying too much. I think he’s going to make an extraordinary film.”
In a separate interview, Farrell teased how The Penguin leads right into The Batman Part II, telling ComicBook, “It conveniently worked that the death at the end of The Batman and the devastation within Gotham opened up a power vacuum that then Oz could try and capitalize on.”
“That was perfect for the parallel eight hours that we had,” he added. “And then [The Batman Part II] will pick up, whatever, a few weeks after the show ended. But I kind of bet against, but not by a wide mark.”
The Batman Part II is set to start filming in the spring, with a release date of October 1, 2027.
