Her family have paid a poignant tribute to ‘the best mommy in the world’Ellie Clenton died at the scene of the Staffordshire collision

Grieving relatives of a ‘beautiful and amazing’ 22-year-old killed in a Staffordshire smash have today paid tribute to her. Ellie Clenton died at the scene of the Essington horror crash that left five other women in hospital.

Now her heartbroken family have paid tribute to an ‘incredible mum’ who they say was a ‘huge character with a kind heart’. Meanwhile police continue to appeal for witnesses over the collision between a white Seat Ibiza, being driven by Ellie, and a grey Seat Ibiza.

StokeonTrentLive had reported how five ambulances were scrambled to Blackhalve Lane at around 1am on Sunday morning (October 26). Emergency services were met with six patients, including Ellie.

While Ellie, of Perton, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene, two women were treated for serious injuries and taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital and Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Three other women suffered ‘potentially serious injuries’ and were taken to Walsall Manor.

Ellie’s family say their lives will never be the same again. In a poignant tribute they said: “On Sunday (October 26), our beautiful, amazing daughter Ellie, an incredible mom to her beautiful boy, was taken from us suddenly. Words cannot describe how deeply she is loved.

“Our lives will never be the same again, and we will miss her with every part of us. Everyone who knew Ellie knew what a huge character she was — her beautiful smile, her kind heart, and the way she lived every moment for her precious son.

“Our promise to our beautiful Ellie is this: as a family, together, we will love, protect, and provide for your baby boy for the rest of his life. You will be in his life every single day. He will always remember his beautiful mommy and how deeply he was loved by you.

“We are all completely heartbroken and want to thank everyone for their love and support, which is helping us through this tragic time. Ellie — our amazing daughter, a wonderful sister, and above all, the best mommy in the world — will be loved and remembered forever.”

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who was travelling in the area with any information or those with dashcam, doorbell or CCTV footage which could help collision investigators.”

Witnesses should call 101 and quote incident 39 of October 26.
