Ruben Amorim is a nominee for the Premier League Manager of the Month award following Manchester United’s upturn in form.

Since becoming Manchester United head coach 11 months ago, Ruben Amorim has faced lots of scrutiny, with pundits dismissing his preferred 3-4-2-1 system and speculating over his future.

However, the pressure has eased on Amorim in the past month.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe gave his public backing to Amorim and stressed that he is part of a three-year project to turn things around at Old Trafford. That led to United’s three-match win streak that could become four if United beat Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

This means October 2025 has been Amorim’s best month in charge of United to date.

The Premier League has announced the nominees for the October 2025 Manager of the Month award.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Amorim has been shortlisted along with three other managers for the award, after three straight league wins.

United beat Sunderland 2-0 at the beginning of the month before coming away from Anfield with three points for the first time since 2016.

Last time out, United overcame Brighton to make it three wins on the bounce.

The other Premier League managers in contention for the award are Mikel Arteta, Unai Emery and Andoni Iraola.

Fans can vote for United’s head coach to win the award, which would make his first Premier League Manager of the Month award.

Ruben Amorim individual awards

Amorim won the Primeira Liga’s Manager of the Month nine times during his time coaching in Portugal.

The 40-year-old was also crowned Primeira Liga’s Manager of the Season twice in 2021 and 2024.

It bodes well if Amorim is emerging as a candidate for individual awards, but United fans will want to see trophies won by the team at some point.

Hopefully, Amorim can add the Premier League Manager of the Month award to his list of honours this month.
