Haughan, from Carlisle Villa Boxing Club, will fight at a show in Blackpool on Saturday, November 29.

It will be the 21-year-old’s first contest since turning pro earlier this year.

Haughan confirmed the news on social media.

“Glad to announce my professional debut will be on the 29th November in the Winter Gardens at Blackpool,” he said.

“Let’s get this ball rolling and get a huge away day on the go 👊🏼”

It will be Haughan’s first fight since he was snapped up by promoters VIP Boxing.

He turned professional in August after winning a series of top amateur titles.

And he will now look to further has career under the guidance of VIP, whose stable of boxers over the years has included the likes of double world champion Josh Warrington.

The Manchester-based promoters have worked with other English, British, Commonwealth, European and world champions.

Haughan’s opponent at the VIP show in Blackpool is yet to be confirmed.

Tickets are now on sale for the Cumbrian’s debut night, priced £40 general and £70 ringside.

VIP Boxing, when they announced Haughan’s signing, said they were “buzzing” to have the Cumbrian on board.

“The 2024 Senior ABA champion is a hard-hitting southpaw middleweight who’s already making serious waves in the sport,” they said.

“Known as ‘the Carlisle Golovkin’, a nickname given by ‘The Rhino’ himself Dave Allen, Marc brings knockout power, relentless pressure and an exciting style that fans will love.”

Haughan, who hails from Upperby and now lives in Harraby, added to his string of top titles in June when he was victorious at the prestigious Haringey Box Cup.

Last year he became senior elite national champion, having already won several other titles, and set his sights on turning professional.

He is continuing to train at Carlisle Villa, where coaches are gaining their professional licences to help guide Haughan on his career.
