The Gers hero has been appointed as sporting director of French side Strasbourg.
The 55-year-old left his role as technical director of Brighton in September. He also worked as pathway development manager at the Premier League club before progressing up the ranks.
“It is a great honour to join Racing, a historic club with a strong identity and growing ambition,” said Weir. “I was convinced by the project and the quality of the people already in place. I am eager to settle in Strasbourg and become fully involved in the life of Racing.
“I look forward to working with Liam [Rosenior] and all the teams to contribute to Racing’s success this season and in the years to come.”
Strasbourg are the sister club of Chelsea. It’s said that Weir will work closely with the Stamford Bridge side, with the Ligue 1 outfit bought over by BlueCo in 2023.

Mike Penders, Mamadou Sarr, and Kendry Paez are currently on loan with Strasbourg from Chelsea, while the London side sold Mathis Amougou and Ben Chilwell to them permanently during the summer.
Weir was spotted at Old Trafford in recent months with Chelsea co-owner Behdad Eghbali.
In a statement, Strasbourg said Weir’s arrival was “part of Racing’s commitment to strengthening the structure of its sporting department.”
