Nico Schlotterbeck is at a risk of missing Borussia Dortmund’s Champions League clash against Manchester City on Wednesday.
That’s according to Sky Deutschland, and they cover the centre-back’s chances of facing Manchester City.
Borussia Dortmund secured a 1-0 win over FC Augsburg in the league on Friday. The 25-year-old missed this match due to illness and BVB manager Niko Kovač said he wasn’t fit to play yesterday.
According to the report, Kovač is ‘still hesitant’ over the defender’s involvement against Manchester City. At this moment in time, the manager may have to do without the player.
Over at Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, they also report Schlotterbeck is doubtful to face Pep Guardiola’s side.
The Germany international, who has been BVB’s defensive leader, already missed the start of the season due to injury.
Borussia Dortmund will come up against their former player, Erling Haaland, when they face Manchester City. He has 15 goals and an assist from 12 matches this season. Sky and FAZ say Schlotterbeck’s absence would certainly be a blow for Kovač and his side.
Meanwhile, Manchester City’s immediate focus will be on their league clash against AFC Bournemouth on Sunday.
