Kyle Gallner (Smile, Scream, Strange Darling) will continue hanging around in the horror genre with the upcoming horror-survival movie Man Vs., and Deadline reports this morning that Gallner will star in the movie in addition to writing the screenplay.

Man Vs. will be produced by Radio Silence (Scream, Ready or Not), with Radio Silence co-founder Justin Martinez (V/H/S/Beyond) directing the survival creature feature.

In the film, “Betrayed and left to die in an unforgiving Rocky Mountain winter, an injured gold rush miner (Gallner) must use everything at his disposal to survive the elements, wild animals and a looming, ancient danger far more terrifying than anything he could imagine.”

Martinez said in a statement, “Man Vs. has everything I love in a survival movie and takes it to another level. Kyle has written a fantastic creature feature and I’m excited to bring it to life for the world.”

Shane Kelly, Mister Smith Entertainment SVP of sales & acquisitions adds, “We are looking for sheer excellence and originality in the genre films that we take on, and Kyle’s wild vision for Man Vs. is exactly that. With Justin at the helm and surrounded by the producers of some of the most original horror fare in recent memory, this is going to be a must-see theatrical thrill ride.”

Producers include Roy Lee (Weapons) and Steven Schneider (Insidious) for Spooky Pictures; Chad Villella (Ready or Not); and Stephen Braun and Ross Putman for Bee-Hive Productions (Sacramento). Executive producers are Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin for Radio Silence (Scream), Ben Ross (Late Night with the Devil) and Josh Goldbloom (V/H/S/Beyond).

Justin Martinez directed the segment “Live and Let Dive” in V/H/S/BEYOND, as well as “10/31/98” in the original V/H/S. He also directed two segments in anthology Southbound.

Martinez was recently a visual effects artist for Damien Leone’s Terrifier 3.
