Party planned for ‘old pub’ before ‘new pub’ is revealed

A popular pub just off one of the busiest A-road junctions in Gloucestershire will close for more than three weeks as it undergoes a huge makeover.
The Greyhound, just off Cheltenham Road, in Longlevens near Gloucester, is to temporarily close from Monday, November 17 to Wednesday, December 10.
And before the closure, it is throwing a huge party for a ‘Bye, Bye Old Pub’ night on Saturday, November 15.
The pub is near the Elmbridge Court roundabout where the A40 and the A417 meet.
A message to customers on the pub’s Facebook page said: “We’re super excited to let you know that it’s official – our beautiful, friendly pub is having a makeover starting from the 17th of November
“Keep your eyes peeled because we’ll be posting daily updates showing all the work as it happens.
“You won’t want to miss a moment of the transformation!
“Before we get started, why not join us on the 15th of November for a fun “Bye Bye Old Pub” night?
“There will be plenty of tasty food, great music, drinks flowing, and of course, the best company around.
“Let’s make some lovely memories together before the new look arrives.
“A huge thank you to everyone who’s supported us this year – we couldn’t have done it without you!
“We really hope you’ll come back to visit when we reopen on the 10th of December, looking better than ever.”
The pub will reopen in good time for the Christmas period, with bookings now being taken.
