Today’s Xbox Game Pass roundup for the next couple of weeks was highlighted by the massive addition of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 on November 14th, and Activision has now revealed the preload and release times for the game.
Firstly, Black Ops 7 will be available for preload on November 10th at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm GMT. This is for all platforms, and keep in mind that even if you don’t pre-order it ahead of time, you can use the Xbox mobile app to download games when they become available – so everyone can preload Black Ops 7 on the 10th.
The release time for Black Ops 7 is midnight on November 14th for most players. The Xbox rollout is being staggered by region though, meaning it’ll first become available in New Zealand at 3am PT / 6am ET / 11am GMT on November 13th, with the goal of releasing at midnight local time on November 14th in most regions.
Here’s a graphic that clears it all up a bit:
Don’t be surprised if a lot of people start jetting off to New Zealand on the 13th, then!
Beyond this, the official Call of Duty blog goes over a bunch of optimisations that have been applied to the PC version of Black Ops 7, which are as follows:
Player choice: players can easily optimize for visual fidelity or highest possible FPS
Wide range of hardware support: Call of Duty runs on most hardware while also seamlessly scaling up to crisp graphics and ultra-smooth, high FPS gameplay on higher-end setups
Deep customization: 800+ options for players to customize graphics, gameplay, input devices, interface, and more
Display optimization: from 4K to 1440p to 1080p, from standard to Ultrawide, we support a vast array of displays in all shapes and sizes
Cutting-edge upscaling: AMD FSR 4 and a range of other upscaling and frame generation technologies are supported
Call of Duty PC Benchmark Tool: a built-in, in-game testing tool to analyze your PC’s hardware performance
Ricochet Anti-Cheat: enhanced with new requirements for increased security for both the player and the community around TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot
Sub-frame mouse polling: increased mouse precision for aiming
RGB iCUE: dynamic RGB integration for supported Corsair devices
And finally, it’s mentioned that Black Ops 7 is “fully tuned” for various Windows handhelds including the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X. As a result, it should be a fantastic experience on those devices.
They’ve apparently implemented various techniques to ensure the ROG Xbox Ally version features great visuals and smooth performance, along with a series of other quality-of-life tweaks:
“Black Ops 7 ships fully tuned for supported PC handhelds, including the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X. The developers enhanced UI legibility, scaled every screen for smaller displays, and optimized the game to deliver smooth performance without sacrificing image quality. With native control support, it’s easy to drop in and start playing right away. Beenox is committed to handheld support and pushing quality, performance, and usability. Grab an Xbox Ally or your favorite supported handheld, hit Start, and take your adventure anywhere.”
All of this is sounding great, and we’re looking forward to seeing how the full game fares when Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 officially arrives on November 14th. Don’t forget it’s included with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass too!
