Sunrisers Hyderabad have been one of the high-performance teams in the IPL in recent years and they hold their top three records for the highest team scores in the history of the tournament. A crucial factor in this batting explosion is South African player Heinrich Klaasen.
Klaasen has been one of the most explosive players in the T20 format in recent times and he perfectly fit into SRH’s composition in 2023 and 2024. Thanks to his immense contributions to SRH over the years, fans fondly referred to him as “Kateramma Koduku” which is a famous phrase from Salaar.
But his performance in the 2025 season was largely restrained with not many contributions. Subsequently, even SRH had a poor season this year.
In this context, the latest speculations on social media are suggesting that Sunrisers Hyderabad are contemplating the idea of parting ways with Klaasen ahead of the next auction. This might sound shocking, but it has habit of financial value to it.
Klaasen is the costliest player in SRH team and he takes a salary of ₹23 crore. If SRH decides to let him go, then the team will have vacant purse of ₹23 crore in the kitty and go into the auction heavy handed.
For now, there is a lot of discussion happening on whether SRH would keep hold of him or let him go. More clarity will emerge before the mini auction that’s coming up in December.
