Samsung is known for making some of the most powerful phones out there, from the S25 Ultra to the cutting edge folding devices of the Fold and Flip7. However, those flagship devices come with some hefty price tags of over £1,000 attached, making them unachievable and largely unnecessary for the vast majority of shoppers.

Thankfully, Samsung also makes a phone targeted to us more budget conscious folk. Arriving on the scene in March of 2025, the Galaxy A26 launched at a price of £299, but a current Amazon sale has just seen £50 knocked off the price for a limited time only.

That means shoppers can currently snap up a perfectly capable brand new Samsung Galaxy phone for £249. Despite being on the budget end of the spectrum, it still retains a lot of features from the more expensive phones in Samsung’s line-up.

For one, it has three main camera sensors including an ultrawide, normal wide, and macro camera. While it lacks that telephoto zoom, it can still use AI to zoom in up to 10x.

It also comes with a mammoth amount of storage for keeping all those photo memories. With 256GB, that’s double the base amount of storage on an iPhone 16.

Throw in six years of promised software updates and shoppers can be sure that this Samsung device is going to last them a while. It might not have quite as powerful processor as those top end Galaxy S25 models, but it’s a great balance for those looking to save some cash.

Amazon also has some other great budget phone options too, including the Nothing Phone (3A). It features a funky design on the back and is available for £289.

On the lower end of the price bracket is the HONOR X6c which packs a 120Hz screen and a huge 5300mAh battery into a fantastic budget package. It’s currently on sale for £89.99 instead of £129.99.

Reviews of the Samsung Galaxy A26 sit at 4.3 stars at Amazon. One reviewer writes: “Great phone at a good price, good looking and nice clear screen.”

A second shoppers says: “Surprisingly good for the price. It’s a fair sized phone with a good camera and screen considering how cheap it is. Highly recommend.” A third adds: “I have used it for several days but I am very happy with the performance. Battery lasts all day with heavy usage, light weight.”

However, some users did report less than stellar battery life despite the large capacity on paper: “Good phone – nothing out of the ordinary though. Battery runs out quickly.”

Another less than impressed shopper added their own experience: “Heavy and unimpressive battery life.”
