India take series lead in Australia with convincing win in fourth T20I; Sanju dropped again

A solid bowling performance helped India defeat Australia by 48 runs in the fourth T20I at Carrara and take a 2-1 lead in the series on Thursday.
Washington Sundar completed the formality by claiming 3/3 from just 1.2 overs after Axar Patel claimed a pair of scalps that derailed the Aussie innings.
Australia folded for 119 in response to India’s total of 167/8. Captain Mitchell Marsh top scored with 30 runs, while Patel and Shivam Dube claimed two wickets each, and Arshdeep Singh, Jasprit Bumrah and Varun Chakravarthy shared three wickets between them.

Earlier, opener Shubman Gill top-scored with 46 runs, but India lost a flurry of wickets to set the hosts a 168-run target. Gill and Abhishek Sharma added 56 in 6.4 overs before Adam Zampa dismissed the latter for 28. Shivam Dube and skipper Suryakumar Yadav made good starts but fell for 22 and 20 respectively.
At one point, India were 121/2 at the start of the 15th over, but lost Suryakumar, Tilak Varma and Jitesh Sharma in 10 balls. Wicket-keeper batter Sharma was retained in the side in place of Sanju Samson. Washington Sundar (12) and Axar Patel (21 not out) managed to help the score past 150 and end at a respectable total.
Australia won the second game by four wickets after the first match was washed out, while India responded with a five-wicket win in the third T20I at Hobart. The fifth match will be played in Brisbane on November 8.
