Like the sun rising and Shohei Ohtani finding himself on base, MLB The Show 26 has been announced.
As was the case last year, San Diego Studio has revealed the game early, although this time it’s not having to do so with its bat between its legs.
Fans may recall MLB The Show 25 was also unveiled early in response to scrutiny about its predecessor’s Diamond Dynasty mode. This year’s game has been much better received overall.
In fact, that makes this tease from Sony’s Ramone Russell fairly beige overall. There’s a commitment to upping the authenticity of gameplay, taking Road to the Show “further than ever before”, and evolving the front office in Franchise mode.
But there’s very little to sink your teeth into really. We know, perhaps, from job listings that a PC release is likely.
The only other big thing is that you’ll be able to begin your progress in Diamond Dynasty early using Now and Later packs.
These function as standard The Show packs, but the twist is that opening one now in MLB The Show 25 will unlock a pack in MLB The Show 26 when it releases.
The packs will be part of the 11th Inning XP Path beginning 21st November, and will also feature as part of a dedicated Program in early 2026.
So, it’s all good incentive to play MLB The Show 25 now ahead of the new game’s release next year.
