Mike Tyson believes Tyson Fury should keep fighting until he is longer physically able to.

Fury is currently out of action after electing to retire once again following his second consecutive defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.

Several tempting offers remain on the table including a two-fight deal with bitter rival Anthony Joshua, and he has indicated he is open to a trilogy with Usyk in 2026.

But in recent weeks, Fury has insisted he is once again happily away from the boxing ring.

With his future up in the air, the boxing community is stewing on whether they’d like to see the ‘Gypsy King’ lace up his gloves again.

And heavyweight legend Tyson, who is a friend and advocate of the Briton’s career, believes he still has much more to give.

He said: “Look, take a couple of months off and come back. Yes, come back. You’re going to want to come back when you’re 40-something, so start doing it now.

“I said, man, I wish I didn’t quit. So you just keep training right now, and keep fighting because you’re going to want to do it when you’re 40.

“If you quit now, when you’re 40, you’re going to say, wow, I wish I didn’t stop fighting. Keep fighting until you can’t fight anymore.

“That’s what I do. Keep fighting until you can’t, I want to keep fighting until I can’t breathe anymore. Keep fighting. Knock me out, f**k it.”

It is no wonder Tyson wants Fury to continue competing given his own career decisions of late.

After fighting on to a sad decline before retiring in 2005, Tyson is still battling away years on from his prime.

The boxing icon recently decided to make a full professional comeback aged 58, losing to YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul in a sad spectacle.

And despite the health risks, Tyson is once again believed to be fighting again next year in a lucrative exhibition with Floyd Mayweather.

Who could Tyson Fury fight if he does return?

There are a queue of options for Fury should he return, with the primary names of Joshua and Usyk in the mix.

Several up and coming fighters are also making their name including Fabio Wardley and Moses Itauma, but they are deemed more unlikely.

It remains unclear as to exactly what Fury’s motivation is, and if he is keen to fight his way back to the top of the division and earn a new world title shot.

When pressed on who Fury should then compete against if he makes yet another U-turn, Tyson added: “I think he should get two warm-up fights.

“Good money fights, and then fight those guys. He can make a lot of money fighting the contenders, up-and-coming guys.

“Get warmed up with those guys and go right for the title.”
