Every now and then, a random video pops up online that sends everyone spiraling into the same question: “What is that bird?” The latest clip shows a stunning white bird strutting her stuff with total confidence, long legs, soft feathers, and serious main character energy. She looks like a glamorous miniature ostrich who’s just come from a Vogue photo shoot.
People online are obsessed. And honestly, they’re not wrong. The bird’s soft white plumage shines like silk as she struts in slow motion, glancing around as if she knows all eyes are on her.
The video, shared on the TikTok account @thedirtfarm, has everyone so flabbergasted by how amazing this little gal is! Their flabbers are totally gasted, I say! One person said, “For some reason, this reminds me of Phyllis Diller.”
I can see that!
Another person added, “I don’t know what this is, but I love her.”

Someone else added, “Same exact vibes as a Las Vegas showgirl.”
At first glance, you might think she’s a baby ostrich or maybe even an exotic designer chicken, but she’s actually a rhea, a large, flightless bird native to South America. Rheas are relatives of ostriches and emus, though smaller and (let’s be honest) about 10 times more fabulous. This particular one’s coloring—bright white with sleek feathers—gives her the kind of elegant appearance that has everyone comparing her to a high-fashion model.
Another person replied, “I love rheas! Such cool birds! I actually hope to have a few someday when I’m ready. Many people have never heard of them. I like that they’re smaller than emus and seem like they’d be easier to handle.”
If you feel the same way, here’s some more information on these beautiful birds.
What Exactly Is a Rhea?
Rheas are large, flightless birds found mainly in Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay. They’re part of the ratite family, which also includes ostriches, emus, and kiwis. Adult rheas can grow up to 5 feet tall, but they’re known for their gentle nature and curious personalities. Unlike ostriches, they have three toes on each foot instead of two, and their feathers are softer and looser, giving them that signature “fluffy runway look.”
While they can’t fly, rheas are fast runners, able to sprint up to 40 mph when they want to. Combine that with those long legs and natural poise, and it’s no wonder people are calling this bird the supermodel of the animal kingdom.
