A new twist has been announced today regarding Corriedale – and it involves you.
Corriedale is the name of the Coronation Street and Emmerdale crossover episode, which is going to air at the start of 2026.
Back at the start of this month, it was confirmed that Danny Miller and Vicky Myers will see their paths cross as Aaron Dingle and DS Lisa Swain for a fateful night that contains darkness.
And it seems like the villains in their lives – Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) and on-the-run killer John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth) may play a part.
Metro recently spotted a big clue in Weatherfield police station showing a wanted poster for John – and apparently there are other hints to look out for.
The specifics of the overall arcs of the episode remain a closely guarded secret for now, but we can most likely expect further teasers of who will meet who in the genius concept.

An excited Coronation Street spokesperson told us: ‘What leads Lisa and Aaron to find their lives intertwined on a dark and foreboding night in January?
‘And which other Coronation Street and Emmerdale favourites will feature in the action packed and climactic episode?
‘While the exact plot is being kept under wraps, what we can confirm is a one off one hour spectacular, featuring explosive scenes, nail biting drama and never before seen interactions between some of the nation’s most loved soap characters.’
The latest development regarding this exciting event involves you!
On social media, a handful of cast members from Corrie and Emmerdale announced today that fans are now able to pick who they’d like to see in the crossover.

The message reads: ‘Calling all Corrie and Emmerdale fans! This is your chance to pick who you want to see together in our huge Corriedale crossover episode.
INSTRUCTIONS
1) Pick ONE character from Corrie and ONE character from Emmerdale.
2) Tell us your dream duo in the comments.
3) Wait to see who gets picked!’.
Stars Jane Hazlegrove, Vinta Morgan, Lisa Riley and Michael Parr go on to explain in the video that the short list will be revealed soon, so you better get to it!

Iain MacLeod, ITV’s Executive Producer for Continuing Drama, teased the game-changing episode and said: ‘It’s beyond exciting that filming is under way on Corriedale. There is a massive buzz around both the Leeds and Manchester sites and the images coming out of the shoot are utterly spectacular.
‘And that’s before we’ve even got to all the brilliant transpennine interactions between characters from the different shows!
He added: ‘As a soap fan myself, I think my head is going to explode when the episode airs next year. It will be mind-blowing, historical and unmissable.’
