Radio DJ Scott Mills has sent a sweet message of support to his BBC Radio 2 colleague Sara Cox following a particularly difficult day during her Children in Need challenge.
The presenter has embarked on an 135-mile run as part of the Great Northern Marathon Challenge, which spans four counties – Northumberland, Durham, North Yorkshire and West Yorkshire.
Appearing on The One Show on Tuesday evening (November 11) alongside co-host Angellica Bell, Scott took a moment to send his support, saying to Sara: “We’re all so proud of you, we love you lots.”
He told viewers: “It’s a massive week for Children in Need. Yesterday my Radio 2 pal Sara Cox started her 135 mile Great Northern Marathon Challenge. Now I have been following her journey, we all have.”

Scott revealed he’d spoken with Sara on Tuesday morning as she endured “heavy rain, awful winds and lots of steep hills” during the latest stage of her challenge, reports Wales Online.
“Today has been super tough and Sara, I know you’ll be watching this evening, we’re all so proud of you, we love you lots,” he said.
“You’re doing so well,” he added, with co-presenter Angellica adding: “So difficult!”
Footage shown during the programme captured Sara, 50, battling through wet conditions on her latest run.

The star’s ambitious challenge will see her cover the equivalent of five marathons over five days across the four counties.
Before embarking on her journey earlier this week, she declared: “I’ll be running when I can, striding when I can, maybe occasionally stumbling, limping and weeping – but I’ll get myself to Pudsey by Friday.
“Pudsey’s even got his own rain mac, so we’ll look after each other all the way.”
As The One Show concluded, Scott mentioned that he would be providing updates from Sara on his breakfast show on Wednesday (November 12).
The One Show airs on BBC One from 7pm on weekdays and Children in Need 2025 airs on Friday November 14 starting at 7pm on BBC One
