Joe Shorrocks will proudly be sponsored at the Saints by MJS Data Management Ltd.
The 25-year-old is predominantly a back-rower or loose forward but has shown he can slot into several positions across a team.
Over the past two seasons, he has been a key figure for Salford Red Devils, having begun his professional career with Wigan Warriors, the club he came through as a youngster.
Shorrocks finished the 2025 campaign on loan with Leeds Rhinos, and during his time with Wigan, he also enjoyed loan spells with London Skolars and Leigh Leopards. While with the Warriors, he won the League Leaders’ Shield twice, and in 2021, he earned Betfred Super League’s Top Tackler Award.

Whilst at Salford, Shorrocks played under St.Helens’ new Head Coach, Paul Rowley, and established himself as a key part of the Red Devils side that defied the odds to reach the Play-Offs in 2024.
Joe will start work with the Saints next week when pre-season begins, and the Club can also confirm that he has been allocated squad number #22. Our full squad numbers will be revealed next week, as preparations get underway for the Betfred Super League 2026 competition.
Ecstatic to join the Club, Joe Shorrocks told saintsrlfc.com: “I think ‘excited’ is an understatement really! I just can’t wait to get started with this new chapter and for what lies ahead.
“I’ve worked with Rowls [Paul Rowley] for the past two years and with Briersy [Lee Briers] when he was at Wigan, so I know what they expect. They want to win, and that’s what I want too.
“The way Rowls likes to play suits me; moving the ball and playing an attacking brand of rugby. He’s really helped develop my game, so hopefully we can keep building on that.”

Able to play across the team in a number of roles, Shorrocks thrives on the forwards battle in the middle of the field.
“Throwing myself into tackles and getting stuck into the contest, that’s what I enjoy the most, and I want to make my mark here in that regard. We have some really aggressive forwards, so I think I’ll fit right in. It’s another reason why I’m so excited to see how we go in 2026.”
Speaking directly to our supporters, Shorrocks added: “I’m excited and ready to get started. I’ve been on the other side on Good Friday, and I know how much those games mean. Now that I’m a Saints player, I am focused on giving everything for this club and for the fans.”
Head Coach Paul Rowley added: “I’m pleased to welcome Joe to the Saints. He’s a great addition to the squad, both on and off the field, and I’m looking forward to seeing him pull on the Saints jersey.”
