An injured barn owl has been nursed back to health and released into the wild, an animal charity has said.
Jolene was found caught on chicken wire near stables in St Martin, Guernsey, in October and was brought in to the animal charity GSPCA with an injured right leg.
Animal care assistant Jack Le Moigne said she was prescribed rest and medication by the vets and became the first owl to be cared for in its new Goodall Aviary, named after the late primatologist and anthropologist Jane Goodall.
“After three nights in her new suite and with a belly full of mice, Jolene was released back to her territory – she flew off with strength and grace,” he said.
