Three Indian restaurants in Nottingham have made it into nationwide food guide celebrating the excellence of independent curry houses.

The British Indian Good Food Guide 2025 honours the top 100 restaurants across the England, Scotland and Wales, each earning its place through consistently excellent flavours, technique and genuine hospitality.

Indian restaurants contribute billions to the UK economy, with more than 10,000 venues nationally serving a cuisine enjoyed by nearly 90 percent of Britons each year at either fine dining destinations, cherished curry houses or modern street-food outlets.

Featured in the guide are:

Masala Junction, Mansfield Road, Carrington: A warm and carefully run dining room, offering plates that are balanced and confidently seasoned. Consistency remains a defining strength.

Kayal, Broad Street, Nottingham: Coastal dishes executed with precision and freshness. Spicing is clean and well layered, supported by friendly and knowledgeable service.

MemSaab, Maid Marian Way, Nottingham: A refined interpretation of classic cooking. Sauces and textures are impressively controlled, and the dining room maintains an atmosphere of composed professionalism.

The guide’s highest honour of national champion was awarded to Raval Indian Brasserie & Bar in Newcastle. The editors of the guide said: “Indian cuisine is woven into British life. Excellence belongs in every region, not just the capital.”
