Wild Cherry has arrived on BBC One as the latest drama series. The coming-of-age show, which explores mother-daughter dynamics, centres on gated-community residents and close friends Lorna, a self-made entrepreneur, and Juliet, who comes from inherited wealth.
Carmen Ejogo, recognised from The Penguin and Your Honour, portrays Lorna, whilst House of the Dragon’s Eve Best takes on Juliet. The series also follows their daughters Grace (Imogen Faires) and Allegra (Amelia May), who share an equally close bond.
Their friendship faces turmoil when the teenagers become embroiled in a shocking scandal at their elite private school, unleashing toxic secrets and deception across the community. Dickensian and Marcella actress Imogen Faires plays Grace, with Amelia May cast as Allegra.

According to the synopsis: “Wild Cherry is coming-of-age drama for both mothers and daughters as they navigate privilege, power and social media. ‘Like mother like daughter’ rings loudly in a complex world, where danger and betrayal is never far from the surface – even in a perfect town.”
The ensemble cast features Sweetpea star Nicôle Lecky, who penned Wild Cherry and portrays Gigi, alongside Sophie Winkleman (Peep Show, Sanditon), James Murray (Masters of the Air, The Crown), Nathaniel Martello-White (I Hate Suzie, Guerrilla), Jason York (Mood, Dreaming Whilst Black), Isabelle Allen (Les Misérables, Find Me in Paris), Catriona Chandler (Rivals, Enola Holmes 2) and Tara Webb (Phoenix Rise), reports Wales Online.

Discussing her character Juliet’s dynamic with daughter Allegra, Eve revealed: “They have a very complicated relationship. Allegra can barely be in the same room frankly, but Juliet is desperate for her love, attention, anything.”
Audiences will know Eve from her portrayal of Princess Rhaenys Targaryen in House of the Dragon and Anna Clayton in Lucky Man. Her credits also include Carole Middleton in The Crown, Rosaline in Maryland, Farah Dowling in Fate: The Winx Saga and Nurse Jackie.
Carmen Ejogo as Lorna

Carmen describes her character Lorna as retaining a “sense of mystery,” whilst placing “a lot of pressure” on daughter Grace to achieve excellence.
Carmen is recognised for playing Coretta Scott King in Selma and Seraphina Picquery in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. Her television work includes The Penguin, Your Honour, True Detective and Kidnapped.

Writer of Wild Cherry Nicôle also stars as Gigi, a life coach and the community’s resident American. She also narrates the series.
Viewers will recognise Nicôle for her roles in Sky Atlantic’s Sweetpea, Death in Paradise and the George Clooney film Jay Kelly.
She said: “I think maybe it’s not as unique anymore, but being a showrunner, writing and executive-producing the entire series is already a big role. To make it even more fun (or harder! ), I was also acting in the show, playing Gigi. It’s a lot. You’re focused on what the other cast are doing, what they’re wearing, having meetings with the director about production design, locations etc so it’s all-consuming.
“But I’m so passionate about the story, the show, and the women in the show. You have your late nights, but hopefully it’s all worth it and people love the show.”
Imogen Faires as Grace
Imogen portrays Lorna’s daughter Grace. The actress has previously appeared in Goldie’s Oldies, Marcella as Emma Backland, and played Nell in Dickensian.
Most recently, Imogen featured in an episode of Casualty.
