Following his exit from Warrington Wolves, Papua New Guinea international, Roderick Tai, has found a new club.
The 26-year-old centre parted ways with the Wolves upon the expiry of his contract, and has now returned to Australia to continue his rugby league career.
He made 41 appearances in Primrose and Blue, scoring 13 tries. He was a member of the Warrington squad that reached the Challenge Cup Final this year, but was on the losing side as Hull KR claimed the first of their three trophies this year.
Starting his career in the Queensland Cup, he spent 2022 and 2023 with the PNG Hunters, and made 34 appearances for the club, crossing 14 times.
A nine-time international with PNG, Tai represented his nation in the 2022 World Cup, and featured on the wing in every game as they were knocked out of the competition by England in the quarter-finals.
He will now ply his rate at the Central Queensland Capras, meaning he will be back in the Australian reserve grade next season.
Commenting on his new arrival, Lionel Harbin, the Capras’ head coach, said: “Rodrick has got a lot of experience playing big games, which is something we were after.”
A few members of the club’s 2025 squad have made their way to the UK for next season. York Knights’ Ryan Jackson and London Broncos’ Morea Morea both represented the side this year, whilst Catalans’ Ben Condon also featured for them prior to his mid-season switch to Widnes Vikings.
