During the 2025 road season Léo Bisiaux established himself as one of the great promises of cycling. At just 20 years of age, the Frenchman from Decathlon AG2R La Mondiale rose to fame at the Vuelta a Burgos, where he took his first professional victory with a daring move on stage 3.
Ahead of cyclists of the stature of Isaac del Toro, Giulio Ciccone or Giulio Pellizzari, among others, Bisiaux won one of the decisive stages of the Spanish stage race. Although he struggled a bit during the queen stage up Lagunas de Neila, the Frenchman was able to secure his first big GC podium, behind the Mexican star and Lorenzo Fortunato.
But road racing is not Bisiaux’s only talent and passion. The junior cyclocross world champion from Hoogerheide 2024, Bisiaux has his eyes set on the cross-country discipline as well this winter.
The Decathlon team has issued an official statement detailing the racing schedule that Léo Bisiaux will follow during the current 2025/26 season in which he will, at least at the start, wear the French under-23 champion’s jersey. The 20-year-old should take part in a total of 11 races, mixing elite and under-23 starts, with his season set to culminate at the U23 World Cup in Hulst at the end of January.
Therefore, the 8th man of the under-23 World Championships in Benidorm last winter will not attempt to improve his result, prioritizing road preparation with a calculated amount of racing in mud and cold.
Although the French cyclocross fans will have to understand that their biggest road stars Bisiaux and Paul Seixas will ride cyclocross less and less in coming seasons, there is still a lot to look forward to with their colleague Aubin Sparfel seemingly set to add as many cyclocross starts as possible. The peer of Seixas, who is set to make professional debut in 2027, already left his mark this winter with a 6th place at the European cyclocross Championships, only 5 seconds shy of a podium result.

Léo Bisiaux will take part in 11 races in the 2025/26 cyclocross season
