Premier League leaders Arsenal will hope to maintain their advantage at the top of the table when they face North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.
Mikel Arteta’s side have established a four point lead over Manchester City, although they were held to a 2-2 draw by high-flying Sunderland in their last outing before the international break.
The ex-Arsenal midfielder will hope to see his side return to winning ways against Spurs, although the Lilywhites boast an impressive record away from home so far this term and the occasion of a North London derby makes for an intriguing encounter.
In the meantime, though, it appears that the Gunners are close to finalising a huge new contract with one of their most important players.
As per CaughtOffside, Bukayo Saka has reached a full agreement with Arsenal which will make him the club’s highest earner.
The winger has established himself as one of Arsenal’s most important players in recent years, and has now made more than 270 appearances for the London side across all competitions.

He has scored 76 goals and provided 71 assists for Arsenal across that time, and he is now set to follow in the footsteps of teammates William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli in being rewarded with a new deal.
It is claimed that the agreement has now been verbally agreed, with a few minor details all that is left before the deal can be confirmed.
Despite this, the report suggests that an official announcement of Saka’s new contract may not take place until January.
Saka’s current contract is set to expire at the end of next season, but it is claimed that the England international’s new deal will run until the end of the 2029/30 season.
