Grace Dent was left battling back tears on Friday’s The One Show as she pleaded with the presenters to ‘stop making me emotional’.
The 52 year old has recently stepped into the judging hot seat on Celebrity MasterChef, replacing the axed Gregg Wallace.
Grace, who was previously a regular guest critic on the show, has taken over from Gregg, 61, who was sacked following a probe into his behaviour that saw 45 out of 83 complaints against him upheld.
During her appearance on Friday’s The One Show to discuss her new position, Grace became tearful as presenters Clara Amfo and Scott Mills shared viewer messages praising her performance on the BBC cookery show.
Clara, 41, said: “The people have spoken and you are smashing it. Lovely Jill messaged in saying ‘Grace is a breath of fresh air and really fair and encouraging to the contestants.'”, reports Wales Online.

Grace grew emotional, prompting fellow guest Mel Giedroyc to observe: “She’s going to cry! She’s going to cry!” whilst Clara revealed more messages were coming.
Meanwhile Scott, 51, added: “I’ve got another one! Irene says Grace has such a good sense of humour and gives great practical advice. I hope her attitude never changes! Never change Grace!”.
This caused Grace to exclaim: “Stop making me emotional! I’m on The One Show, live on television!”.
She continued: “It means the absolute world that this has been my favourite show for years. I don’t want to sound like a superfan but I am a superfan!

“I’m an enormous superfan, I’ve watched that show since it was in that very dark studio with Loyd Grossman years and years ago.
“I’ve always loved it and to be at the helm, is a dream come true! It is incredible and getting this feedback, you know, we began recording that a while ago…
“You’re waiting and you’re waiting and you’re waiting for it to hit the screens. I wanted people to just feel that the show is joyous and exciting, and they did, sorry, I’m excited!”
The One Show continues on weekdays at 7pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
