Lando Norris will start the Las Vegas Grand Prix from pole position after a stunning effort in the rain in Sin City.

On a track not expected to suit the McLaren, Norris survived the treacherous, if drying conditions in Q3, to roar to pole position – his third in a row.

Team-mate Oscar Piastri was hampered by a yellow flag on his final run, leaving him only fifth behind Max Verstappen, Carlos Sainz, and George Russell.

Elsewhere, for the first time in his career, Lewis Hamilton suffered the ignominy of qualifying last on pure pace.
