Travel accessories-focussed startup Escape Plan has raised $5 Mn (around INR 43.14 Cr) in its seed funding round co-led by Jungle Ventures and Fireside Ventures.

Founded in 2025 by Abhinav Pathak, former founder of retail tech startup Perpule, and Landmark Group’s ex-COO Abhinav Zutshi, Escape Plan will offer travel accessories including luggages, duffels, backpacks, slings, pouches, and modular organisers.

The startup will have an omnichannel presence, with it selling products from multiple brands via offline stores, its ecommerce platform, and quick commerce platforms. While the startup is yet to go live online, it claims to offer “design-led and fashion-forward” travel accessories via its retail stores in Bengaluru. It plans to launch its ecommerce platform in a week, Pathak told Inc42.

Escape Plan will deploy the capital to expand its retail footprint, accelerate customer acquisition and introduce new product categories.

Besides, the early stage startup is also looking at exploring integrations with quick commerce and travel discovery platforms to offer 1-hour delivery in key markets.

On the offline front, Escape Plan aims to launch over 100 stores across tier I & II cities over the next two years.

“India’s travel and luggage market, currently valued at approximately $3.5 Bn, is expected to surpass $5 Bn by 2028. Our aim is to build a platform that offers curated, functional, and design-forward products for this rapidly growing consumer base,” Pathak said.

While the startup is starting its journey with travel accessories, Pathak said that Escape Plan aims to build “an entire ecosystem around travel” in the next couple of years.

Notably, Pathak’s previous startup, Perpule, was acquired by ecommerce giant Amazon in 2021 for $14.5 Mn. Post the acquisition, Pathak worked for Amazon as a business and product executive for almost two years.

Perpule was a customisable enterprise ecommerce platform that allowed small retailers to go online. It was founded by Pathak, Saketh BSV, and Yogesh Ghaturle.

Following the acquisition, Ghaturle founded a robotics startup 10x and Saketh BSV continues to work for Amazon. Meanwhile, another Perpule alumni, business head Akshay Gulati, also dawned the entrepreneurial hat earlier last year and founded fashion focussed quick commerce startup Slikk

On the other hand, Zutshi brings with him over two decades of experience in the retail industry. He has held several key positions at companies like Jack & Jones, Sahara India, Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail, among others.
