Kanye West has sparked concern among his fans after saying he regretted participating in life.
The rapper, 48, took part in a brief street interview with Mystery Fashionist, a TikTok account with nearly 300,000 followers, in Japan. After introducing himself as “Ye from Chi” – in reference to Chicago, where he grew up – he was asked to rate his outfit and to describe it.
“It’s always 10/10,” Ye said, as he pointed to his original Yeezy 950 boots, and said he got the rest of his clothes – a pair of jeans with a matching shirt and a leather jacket – from a pop-up he visited earlier in the day. The interviewer, Ajay Porter, then asked Ye: “What’s a fashion trend you regret participating in?”
After a brief pause, a serious-looking Ye replied: “Life.” The interview then ended. Fans flooded the TikTok post with concerned comments as one said: “He look different.” Another wrote: “Why does he sound so sad bro.” A third added: “Ye tired man.”

A fan posted: “He don’t even sound the same.” Someone else commented: “Life…He ain’t lying lol. It’s rough out here!!” Another TikTok user said: “‘Always a 10/10’ man sounded like old YE for a split sec.”
“Sending ye love & healing,” one more wrote. “I almost thought this ain’t Ye until he answered ‘Life,'” a fan added. It isn’t the first time Kanye has made his fans worried, with some of his outbursts including rants against his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian and her own dating life and parenting styles, controversial music and anti-Semitic remarks.
There have also been concerns about the way his relationship with his wife, Bianca Censori, plays out, with a recent list of harsh rules he allegedly has for her, which controls everything from her diet and exercise routines, to whether she can get tattoos or a tan, and being exposed. The rapper’s sad admission comes after Kim opened up about her marriage to her father of her four children.

During an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, the reality TV star said the “final straw” that ended her marriage to Ye was feeling “emotionally and financially unsafe”. The socialite, 44, described how she constantly felt on edge due to Kanye’s erratic behaviour, including allegedly giving away five of their Lamborghinis during a mental health “episode”.
Kim became so concerned that she filed for divorce, which became official in 2022. Speaking on the podcast, the mum-of-four said: “You never know what you’re going to get when you wake up, and that’s a really unsettling feeling.” Host Alex Cooper asked Kim what the “final straw” was in her decision to end her marriage, to which Kim said a “lack of stability” was a major factor in her decision.
But she and Kanye, 48, maintain “a great healthy relationship” despite the divorce, and they share four children; North, 12, nine-year-old Saint, Chicago, seven, and Psalm, who is six. Kim and Kanye’s relationship was also strained by the musician “airing out a lot of personal stuff,” alluding to the time he publicly revealed the pair had considered an abortion after falling pregnant with their first child.
“I didn’t like the feeling of someone talking bad about my kids, grandmother, aunts – all of those feelings. If someone feels that way, then we shouldn’t be together,” Kim added during the interview.
