At around 6.30am last Saturday morning, early risers in Black Notley’s Mary Ruck Way enjoyed a treat from nature when an elegant deer trotted up the main road.

Callum Guntrip, 18, had just left home and was on his way to work when he saw the beautiful creature walk peacefully by his car.

Stopping at one of the mini roundabouts in Mary Ruck Way, Mr Guntrip, a sales associate at Tommy Hilfiger, paused to take in the sight.

He said: “Seeing a deer in the estate was such a nice surprise.

“I spotted it around 6:30am Saturday morning on my way to work, it was really beautiful to watch – though I think it was a little lost.”

Residents quickly began to fawn over the video on Facebook, while some had already heard of her visit.

While she calmly walked around the roundabout onto the grass verge, the gorgeous animal was possibly wondering if she could pop in and enjoy residents’ indoor heating.

Or perhaps it was simply one of Santa’s reindeer eager to get to work.

The deer walked up the housing estate and eventually to pastures new.
