The drama of Celtic’s AGM overshadowed the weekend’s action in Paisley.
Thankfully, the Celtic players did their talking on the pitch, thanks to a stunning last-minute winner from captain Callum McGregor against St Mirren.
A lot has been said about Celtic’s AGM being cancelled, with the board trying to push their narrative via club channels once everything was concluded.
The Celtic supporters were never going to buy that rubbish, but nor are the Scottish media, as Peter Martin highlighted on PLZ Soccer.

When it comes to transfers, the powers that be at Celtic make a meal of it, as they proved this summer, and how they failed to properly back Brendan Rodgers.
But speaking on PLZ Soccer, Martin rightly highlighted that, when it comes to selling merchandise, nobody is better at doing it than the champions of Scotland.
Martin stated how strip after strip is being put on the shelves by the club, from ‘Adidas strips’ to ‘fashion wear’, but those paying their tickets are no longer having it.
Poll: Do you have faith in the Celtic board?
“Over the last 20 years, it’s not only about recruitment, but it’s how they deal with players who are there,” said Martin.
“How they deal with them when they have clearly said something to them about moving on, and it doesn’t happen.
“Then this late, late signing of players right at the tail end of transfer windows. ‘Oh, we couldn’t get the right guy.’ These excuses have been rattled out nonstop.
“The Celtic fans have heard them that much that they are saying to themselves, ‘you know what, there is a considerable amount of money that the Celtic fans buy strips, one strip, two strip, third strip. Classic Adidas strip comes out. Fashion wear comes out.’
“Consistently having to put money up for their season tickets. Exorbitant prices in European matches. At the end of it, they are saying, ‘Enough is enough.’”
Celtic fans’ ‘Not Another Penny’ campaign
There have been many protests from the Celtic fans, from just outright chanting against the board, not taking to their seats at the start of games or delaying the start of matches.
One that many would have seen is the ‘Not Another Penny’ campaign. Where fans are urging one another to stop putting money into the club.

As of this moment, the Celtic board aren’t budging, and they are being very stubborn, as they proved with their quite out-of-touch words at the AGM.
But it won’t be known until these coming months, whether these ‘Not Another Penny’ campaigns work, and if it starts hurting the back pockets of the powers that be, only then will real change come about.
