M20 shut between Ashford and Maidstone after ‘serious’ collision

A section of the M20 in Kent has been closed after a “serious” collision, Kent Police said.

The crash happened earlier between junction nine (Ashford) and junction eight (Maidstone) on the London-bound carriageway.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said the crash involved three vehicles – a car, a lorry and a HGV – and was reported just before 08:30 GMT.

They added the carriageway will remain closed into the afternoon.
