Married at First Sight UK star Bailey Smith has revealed his real name, joking “the secret is out of the bag now”.
Bailey, 36, a sales manager from St Albans who now lives in Brighton, was married to Rebecca Fenney, 32, an aesthetics nurse from Liverpool, on the hit show.
Despite sharing heart-warming final vows, Married at First Sight UK couple Rebecca and Bailey went on to split up around a month after the show, confirming the news on social media.
Yet this isn’t the only bombshell revealed after the show as on Tuesday night, Bailey revealed that the name he used during his time on the show isn’t his real name.
Taking to his Instagram Stories, Bailey shared a screenshot of an article with his “Bailey Smith” name to which he wrote: “I can’t shake this Bailey ‘Smith’ name” with crying laughing emojis.

He then added a glimpse of his BBC Radio Sussex interview, where he revealed that his real name is David Bailey, adding: “The secret is out of the bag now!”
Bailey then added in a video: “Right we need to clear up this name nonsense by the looks of it. Right, just for the record, no I do not want to be called David!
“Yes, my full name is David Bailey, but everyone has always called me Bailey forever. The only person who calls me David is my mother when I’m in trouble!
“So yes, my name is Bailey, I go by Bailey, I’ve always gone by Bailey, and I always will… not Bailey Smith and not David Bailey either! I’ve cancelled that name, it’s gone, out the window!
Elsewhere during his BBC Radio Sussex interview, Bailey spoke about his relationship and split with Bec: “I have loved every minute of it. But it’s been tough. Going through heartbreak in the public eye has been quite difficult.”

“It took me a while to take the ring off, [if] I am honest. I can’t say too much because there’s another reunion coming up at some point.”
Bailey also insisted that he is “very much single” and he is going through a “bit of healing time”.
It comes as Bailey shared a lengthy Instagram post after the show concluded, writing: “Unfortunately it’s time to share that Bec and I are no longer together… We tried our best to navigate life after the experiment, and although we spent a lot of great time together on the outside, unfortunately the relationship came to an end.
“I still have a lot of love for Bec and I’m grateful for the amazing relationship we shared. I had fallen for Bec completely and it really was a true love story. I won’t lie, watching us fall in love all over again on screen has been ridiculously hard to go through and it’s something I’m still struggling with now. But I wouldn’t have changed any of it!

“Sadly I also have to address the various different false online allegations constantly being spread about me since the start of MAFS, which have been hard to deal with. I want to make it very clear, I never cheated on Bec at any point.
“I didn’t handle our break up well and for that I’m truly sorry to Bec, but I was completely loyal the whole way through our relationship.
“I’m not perfect, I don’t claim to be and I take responsibility for my part in why the relationship didn’t work. Making the decision to end things was heartbreaking and not a decision that I took lightly. I’m still heartbroken, but I wish Bec all the best and I always will #mafs #mafsuk.”
Meanwhile, Bec addressed their split on Instagram, simply writing: “To answer all the questions…. Yes, he fumbled.”
