Dujon Sterling has been added to Danny Rohl’s defensive options, replacing injured Derek Cornelius.

The Canadian picked up an injury during the international break with his country, with Rohl insisting last week that the 28-year-old was waiting to see a specialist regarding the severity of his knock.

Rohl said on November 21: “Derek, at the moment, I have a little doubt that it’s just four weeks, five weeks.

“It could be longer.”

We can today confirm Dujon Sterling will replace Derek Cornelius in the UEFA Europa League league phase squad.

Because of this, Rangers have removed Cornelius from their squad for the remainder of their league phase games, with versatile defender Sterling added in his place.

Earlier this week, Sterling made his first appearance in seven months during Rangers U19’s match against St Mirren, with the 26-year-old playing an hour before being substituted.

The Ibrox side will take part in their fifth Europa League game of the season on Thursday night, where they will be hoping to pick up their first points of the competition against Braga.

The visitors to Glasgow defeated Celtic earlier in their campaign at Parkhead , beating then- Brendan Rodgers ‘ side 2-0.
