Martin Kemp’s wife Shirlie has confessed she was left mortified by her husband sharing details of their sex-life with the nation on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! The 63-year-old pop star touched down at Brisbane Airport today to cheer on her husband of 37-years as he takes part in the hit ITV show.
While she has been cheering him on from home, some of his revelations have left her red in the face. In Sunday night’s episode, Martin sparked a round of X-rated campfire chatter when he revealed the sex position the couple tried in hopes of getting pregnant.
The Spandau Ballet star told his campmates that they struggled to get pregnant due to Shirlie’s endometriosis diagnosis. Martin recalled Shirlie’s mother asking them if they had ever “tried the wheelbarrow” position before.

To the horror of his family but the amusement of his fellow camp mates and viewers at home, Martin stood up to demonstrate the move, leaving the rest of the camp in fits of laughter.
Asked if she was embarrassed by his jungle confessions, Shirlie said: “Yes, I have been very embarrassed. Having to go out the next day and everyone at the gym, going: ‘Oooh Martin.’ But it’s all good, I am used to it.”
Their son Roman, who appeared on I’m A Celeb back in 2019, clearly shared the sentiment. The 32-year-old presenter posted a meme of Homer Simpson pouring bleach into his eyes, along with the caption: “My dad’s talking about ‘wheelbarrowing’ with my mum.”
Although not every story has left Shirlie mortified, as she enjoyed him revealing he was in the running to be the 007 secret agent, James Bond.

She proudly backed Martin’s claim, saying: “He would have made the best James Bond ever, the most handsome one I think.”
Shirely revealed just how proud she is of her husband starring in the gruelling show Down Under, saying: “I am loving it….it’s so funny to see him on the show.”
Martin has frequently opened up about his wife in camp, even joking that their low-key Caribbean wedding could be null and void. Describing their wedding day to his campmates, he said: “I got married in St Lucia on a clifftop overlooking the Caribbean with just three people.”
He joked the ceremony was so basic “if you looked into it more you’d find we’re not married”.
Speaking about Shirlie in the Bush Telegraph, Martin said: “Shirlie is everything for me, everything I do in my life, I do it for her.”
The couple love story began back in the 80s when Shirlie was one half of Wham!’s famous backing duo Pepsi and Shirlie. The pair first met on Top of the Pops in 1982, previously revealing that it had been George Michael who got them together.
