Heartwarming footage has captured the incredible moment two newlyweds got swept up in a silent disco in Glasgow city centre after tying the knot.
Jennifer McFarlane, 30, and Christopher McFarlane, 31, from East Kilbride said ‘I do’ at Glasgow City Chambers on October 6, but got a pleasant surprise while strolling down Buchanan Street on their way to take wedding snaps.
The couple, who have been together for five years and got engaged last August, were walking down the main shopping street in their dress and kilt when they were stopped in their tracks by a group on a silent disco tour.
The video, taken by Darryl McIndoe of D’Airelle Films, shows the loved-up pair strolling hand-in-hand down the main shopping street and greeting passers-by before they are pulled in by a group member with headphones on.
Looking slightly bemused, Jennifer and Christopher shimmy into the middle of the circle where they are given headphones blasting out Whitney Houston’s 1987 classic I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me).

As the crowd start clapping and cheering, Jennifer and Christopher show off their best dance moves, flinging their arms in the air. The chorus hits and the circle erupts, prompting everyone to belt out the lyrics in the middle of the street.
Happy onlookers stop to smile and take photos of the incredible moment, and Christopher leans into give his new wife a smooch.
A minute or so later, the couple wind down the merriment and hand the headphones back while thanking the group, as a confused-looking Christopher hilariously asks, “what the f*** just happened?”
Jennifer told the Record: “We were already feeling the love but that moment just maximised it. We were buzzing.
“It was so random but perfect. I feel like it was meant to happen. You could feel everyone was so happy for us.
“Our videographer told us to join in and I’m so glad we did. We have such a special moment to look back on now.
“The reception from everyone was amazing. People in the street were asking for pictures, stopping us, and shouting lovely things. We were hoping someone else videoed it from their perspective. Regardless, it was unreal.
“You could really feel the spirit of Glasgow.”
After the touching interaction, the couple secured their wedding photos before heading down to Bridge Gardens on Washington Street, where they joined their loved ones to continue the celebrations on into the night.
