The victim was attacked with machetes in the ordeal on Barcroft Road in Wolverhampton on February 13 this year.

And now, 20-year-old Faisal Hussain and 21-year-old Jassdeep Singh have been jailed for their part in the incident.

Hussain, of Goldhill Road in Handsworth was jailed for six years after pleading guilty to conspiring to commit grievous bodily harm and possession of a bladed article.

Singh, of Ingestre Road in Wolverhampton, was jailed for four years after he was found guilty of grievous bodily harm following a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court earlier this year.

Det Con Leah Povey, from West Midlands Police’s Major Crime Team, said: “This was a horrific attack in broad daylight.

“There’s no justification for such extreme violence and these two men will rightly be spending time behind bars for their actions.”

A spokesperson for the force added: “Two men have been jailed after an attack involving machetes in Wolverhampton.

“Faisal Hussain and Jassdeep Singh were both jailed for their involvement in an attack where a man was assaulted and attacked with machetes on Barcroft Road, Wolverhampton, at around 4.30pm on 13 February this year.

“An investigation was immediately launched and officers carried out extensive CCTV enquiries to identify those involved and arrested Singh, and Hussain, later that month.

“Hussain, of Goldhill Road, Handsworth, was jailed for six years after the 20-year-old previously pled guilty to conspiring to commit grievous bodily harm (GBH), and possession of a bladed article.

“Singh, of Ingestre Road, Wolverhampton, was jailed for four years after the 21-year-old was found guilty of GBH following a trial at Wolverhampton Crown Court earlier this year.”
