A woman has died following a crash with a tractor in Cornwall.

Emergency services, including the air ambulance, were called to the scene on the A392 near Newquay at around 9.50am on Wednesday, November 26, following a report of a crash involving a red Ford Fiesta and a yellow JCB tractor.

As a result of the collision, a local woman in her 80s was airlifted to Derriford Hospital having suffered serious injuries.

Police confirmed on Friday that she has since passed away.

Fire crews from Newquay and Bodmin were immediately called to the scene to conduct a complex rescue operation.

They deployed crash rescue equipment to free the casualty from the wreckage involving the yellow JCB tractor.

The road was reopened by 2.15pm on Wednesday after collision investigators examined the scene, and the vehicle was recovered.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “We have been informed that a woman who sustained serious injuries in a road traffic collision near Newquay this week has died. We were informed that she died on Thursday.”

The spokesperson said police are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to come forward following the collision on the A392 at White Acres.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team are appealing for any witnesses to the incident, or anybody with relevant dash-cam footage, to get in touch via 101 or their website, quoting reference 50250303279.
