54KM TO GO: TIME TO HEAR FROM OUR GC LEADER, KIMBERLEY LE COURT (AG INSURANCE-SOUDAL)
In my opinion, it feel like I don’t deserve all of this but I don’t know if it’s going to happen again so why not go all out [with my bike]. It’s pretty surreal, it’s very detailed, even the pins on my number are yellow.
I did struggle to sleep, I woke up quite early but it was really nice to go back to the hotel and see the team. My husband and my brother was waiting for me there and I couldn’t wait to see them because it was really long after the finish so I didn’t get to enjoy it with my close ones.
It’s been surreal. I don’t think I realise it yet and I’m really enjoying me day today.
It’s unfortunate that it’s a sprint stage today and Marianne and I have the same time but to be realistic, I think today and tomorrow are two days to reset mentally and physically. If I lose the jersey, then we’re okay with it. Of course, it’s upsetting but it is what it is. We just have to focus on the rest of the week, which is important.
