EastEnders legends Kat and Zoe Slater have finally reunited, though not in the way you’re necessarily expecting.
Following Zoe’s brief appearance on the BBC One soap recently, everyone is waiting to see the mother and daughter duo come face-to-face on screen again for the first time in 20 years.
Those scenes are still a few weeks away, but for now fans can see actors Jessie Wallace and Michelle Ryan – who play Kat and Zoe respectively – enjoying a night out together.
Michelle, who recently returned to the soap after an absence of two decades, shared some photos of the two in what looks like a cocktail bar to her Instagram page.
Alongside photos of the two smiling for the camera, Michelle wrote in the caption: “A lovely evening out with my on screen mama. What a woman. Love you Jess, not sure what the bathroom selfie is about, I liked the lighting.”

The post received a comment from a former star of the soap, with Little Mo Mitchell actor Kacey Ainsworth writing: “[Love] this.”
And the fans were supportive too, with plenty of people commenting how they “can’t wait” and are “counting down the days” until Kat and Zoe are together again.
Michelle, who has also appeared in Bionic Woman, recently opened up about how much she was enjoying working with her on-screen mum again.
“I haven’t been this excited about work in a long time,” Michelle said. “And being back working with Jessie is amazing, and I can’t say any more because I’ll get into trouble.”

In the show itself, it was revealed during Zoe’s brief return that she’s in a vulnerable state, but her relationship with Kat is so bad she chose to disappear rather than get her mum involved.
Alfie went to look for her, but has been keeping it a secret, knowing Kat will hit the roof if she finds out.
When they finally meet on screen again, it’s going to be explosive…
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
