Around 75% of seniors will now get to keep the cash – those with an income of under £35,000.
Payments are worth £200 for those aged under 80, while those over 80 will get £300.
Winter Fuel Payments usually arrive in bank accounts during November, and everyone is expected to have the cash in time for Christmas.

All pensioners will initially get the cash.
However, HMRC will claw it back from those who have incomes over the threshold amount of £35,000.
