Kenny Tete and Harry Wilson scored within the game’s first six minutes and Spurs found very little danger in the attacking third despite a wealth of possession through 45 minutes, something noted by the booing home crowd as their team went into the break.

Mohammed Kudus scored just before the hour mark and Spurs found better play heading into the final half-hour but no equalizer would arrive in North London.

So what did Frank say about his team’s latest bad day at the office?

Thomas Frank reaction — Spurs boss says booing Vicario bad look for home fans, rues attacking woes

On the game as a whole: “When you are down 2-0 after six minutes that is a mountain to climb and when you are in a bad spell everything seems to go against you. First is a deflected shot. Second is a mistake from Vic. I didn’t like that our fans booed him after that. They can’t be true Tottenham fans.”

“After that we rushed stuff too much. We needed to be cool, stick to the plan, no stressing — easier said than done.”

Attacking play has been poor: “It’s been a thing we’ve been very aware of so it’s just something we need to keep working on.”

Getting booed at home is understandable: “I think it’s okay they’re frustrated because we haven’t won at home for too long. That’s fine after the game but during the game I hope it’s just one time and it never happens again.”

On Pedro Porro’s frustration with home fans: “I didn’t see the incident so I don’t exactly but in general in tough moments, we have to be as calm as possible and do everything we can to work through it.”

Where does this leave Spurs? “It leaves us in a place where we lost a game and every game has a single story. This game we lost in the first six minutes and we just need to keep working.”

What did you think of better play after halftime? “Second half was much better and looked like something we can use.”

“I think we have a tough spell right now. There’s been a few good things. We just need to keep doing what we believe in and keep improving things.”
