A body has been found in a search for a missing Scots man.
The tragic discovery was made in Gatehouse of Fleet in Dumfries and Galloway at around 10.40am yesterday, Saturday, November 29.
Adrian Knott’s family have been informed but formal identification has yet to take place. Officers are treating the death as unexplained but it is not believed to be suspicious.
The 51-year-old was reported missing on Monday, November 24 and was last seen at around 11pm the day before in Gatehouse of Fleet. His vehicle was traced in the remote Knocktinkle area which lies to the north of the town.

Police Scotland utilised both drones and a helicopter as they searched the area looking for him.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Around 10.40am on Saturday, 29 November, 2025, the body of a man was found at the Gatehouse of Fleet.
“Formal identification has not taken place yet, but the family of Adrian Knott, 51, was reported missing on Sunday, 23 November, 2025, have been informed.
“The death is being treated as unexplained but not believed to be suspicious. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
