Coronation Street’s Debbie Webster excitedly plans her wedding next week – but when deciding on the guest list, she makes a controversial decision that angers her brother Kevin. Debbie’s wedding drama begins at the start of the week, when the distressed bride-to-be confesses to Abi and Carl that she’s messed up the venue.
It turns out that Debbie has booked the ceremony for 2027 instead of 2026 – leaving her fearful, as she isn’t sure how much her dementia will have progressed by then.
“Debbie’s devastated to have mucked up the date,” our Corrie insider explains. “For most brides, it may not be too big a deal, but Debbie has her illness to worry about.
“She knows there’s a real chance that her dementia could have progressed significantly by 2027, meaning that she might be too poorly to go through with the ceremony.

“It’s a crushing blow when she already feels as though she’s rapidly losing her grip on things.”
However, the situation soon looks up for the blushing bride when her brother Carl and his partner Abi vow to help her find a different venue, and surprise her by booking swanky Monkton Hall in just three weeks’ time.
“The wedding is suddenly much sooner than Debbie anticipated,” our spy explains. “But if anyone can whip up a stellar ceremony in a time crunch, it’s our Debs.
“Their new plan to tie the knot during the Christmas holidays is so romantic. She and Ronnie are finally going to get the celebration that their love deserves.”

After Carl and Abi’s kind gesture, Debbie tells her fiancé Ronnie that she has every intention of inviting the couple to the ceremony, despite the fact that Abi cheating on Kevin with Carl sparked bitter resentment between the brothers.
Disapproving Ronnie reckons his fiancée is making a mistake, reasoning that their presence will isolate Kevin and make him refuse to attend. Debbie stands her ground – until Kevin gets wind of her plan and throws his invitation in his sister’s face.

“Poor, heartbroken Kev is doing everything in his power to dodge Abi and Carl’s honeymoon phase,” our insider points out. “But surrounded by love at the wedding, he’s sure to feel like a spare part.
“He’s furious that Debbie would even consider inviting the pair of them after what they’ve put him through, and it makes him question which brother Debbie’s loyalties lie with.”
Will Kevin ultimately be able to let bygones be bygones between him and Carl for his sister’s special day? Or is Debbie’s wedding set to unleash a fresh feud between the Webster siblings?
