Fans of Sabrina Carpenter have reacted to the “cringe” moment a member of the audience threw something at the singer during a live performance. In footage of the incident captured by fellow concert-goer, Adi Servin, the 26-year old pop superstar clearly looked unimpressed as she launched the item back into the crowd.

“Don’t throw things at my girl Sabrina Carpenter no matter what the item was, it’s about respecting her boundaries please,” Adi penned in a caption alongside video footage on TikTok. Sabrina’s lengthy Short n’ Sweet Tour concluded last week with six nights at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena.

The item in question thrown on stage appeared to be a yellow rose, as Adi continued: “Sabrina was not playing about [with] that rose being thrown at her.”

After a number of TikTok users responded claiming it appeared to be a fuss about nothing, Adi added further context that may have explained Sabrina’s irate reaction.

“She told everyone not to throw anything on stage prior to this moment! Also turns out it’s a rose attached to handcuffs according to comments so that’s even worse!”

Others, meanwhile, weren’t happy with the singer’s actions, including one person who penned: “That’s so cringe God.”

A second exclaimed: “I love Sabrina, and she has every right to be pretty tired of fans throwing stuff to her on stage, but she didn’t have to throw things back at the audience.”

Whilst a third agreed: “Throwing stuff to the stage is bad, but she could have just tossed it off the stage, purposefully throwing it to a different fan is just as disrespectful.”

Elsewhere, some expressed support for the Espresso singer. “For those of you saying her throwing the rose back is disrespectful, it’s not,” one TikTok user slammed. “What’s disrespectful is the fact people are throwing things on stage after someone had thrown a shirt on stage and she explicitly said not to throw anything on stage.

“They’re not respecting her wishes and are continuously disrespecting her, because of the rose wasn’t dethroned she could’ve gotten hurt, which is a safety hazard, or if she hadn’t noticed one of her back up dancers or herself could’ve fallen.”

Another pointed out: “She’s said she doesn’t want people throwing things on stage, it could be dangerous. And if she lets one fan do it then everyone is going to start as well.”

And a third individual concurred: “Y’all don’t know how dangerous one thrown object can be on a stage. One accepted rose turns into numerous, and quickly it won’t be just roses thrown.

“Plushies even can be tripping hazards. Those stage floors are bare for a reason, safety. You wouldn’t want your fav getting hurt because of something you did, right?”

A representative for Sabrina Carpenter has been invited to respond.
