Police have launched an investigation after a teenage girl was attacked and racially abused in Birmingham city centre.

The victim was assaulted on Bridge Street, near the Hyatt Regency hotel, at around 4.40pm on Saturday, November 8.

Police have so far been unable to identify the attacker.

Detectives this morning issued a grainy CCTV image of a female they would like to identify and speak to.

West Midlands Police said it hoped someone might have information about the attack.

A force spokesperson said: “Do you know who this is?

“We want to speak with her after a teenage girl was physically assaulted and racially abused.

“The incident happened at around 4.40pm on 8 November, on Bridge Street, Birmingham.

“Since then, we have carried out multiple enquiries including reviewing CCTV footage but have been unable to identify who is involved.

“We know that there were a lot of people in the city centre at the time, so we are hoping that someone may have seen something.
